About
David Lee brings 30 years of expertise in the acquisition, entitlement, development and construction of residential and mixed-use projects across the U.S. He has contributed to over $3 billion in projects spanning residential, commercial office, retail and industrial sectors. Though he is based in the Carolinas, his extensive experience includes property development nationwide. Over the course of his career, David has successfully delivered thousands of single-family lots, completed large-scale retail developments with anchor tenants such as Target, Wal-Mart, Publix, Wegmans and Harris Teeter.
David began his career as a land development project manager, overseeing the delivery of lots to national builders. He spent several years at DR Horton, and rose to the role of City Manager in Wilmington, NC. Before founding Maverick, David led the efforts at Catalyst Capital Partners and SunCap Property Group in single-family lot development, build-to-rent projects, multifamily, and mixed-use spaces across the U.S., with a primary focus on the Carolinas.
David received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Kenan Flagler at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a YMCA Board Member, an active ULI member and is a CCIM candidate.
